Lighting for outdoors has the chance to find aspects of aesthetic appeal, as well as efficiency —a vision that Goccia Illuminazione shares and intends to support, with the FLUTE series. At the urban scale, like in smaller contexts, this approach offers evening scenarios of high suggestion and quality illumination. Born from a playful hybrid idea that soon became a decisive design opportunity, FLUTE has taken on its character of lightness and luminous breath, matching the robustness of form and materials with an image of ethereal, suspended light.
LIGHTNESS OF THE FORM IN ROBUST STABILITY
FLUTE is characterised by its aesthetical lightness based on robust aluminium support systems, extruded for the Ø 120 mm posts and die-cast for the fixing bases, with two different installation options for the taller urban lighting version.
EXPRESSION OF LIGHT
The lighting element of FLUTE separates the light source and raises it, extending the suspended effect of the light flow upwards. In this gesture, whereby the light appears to emanate from the pole below, the shape remains that of a pure cylinder, as does its solidity, maintained by the resistant transparent polycarbonate diffuser.
POWER AND CONTEXT
The primary development was initiated for urban lighting contexts in large open areas, with lighting proportions and pole heights based on these requirements —decorative and abundant lighting for public spaces.The same alchemy, adjusted in terms of wattage, made it possible to size FLUTE in heights of 70, 90 and 120 cm to offer this ethereal effect in residential contexts.
